So Many Things to Be Grateful For....

I'm grateful that I get to travel and paint and occasionally call it
"work." My favorite travel buddy is my cute 78 year old mother. She
never complains, just finds somewhere comfortable to sit and paints
right along side of me. This was from a trip she and I took to Kolob
Mountain last spring.

I'm grateful when a painting I like finds a home with people I know.
This painting won the Mayor's award at the Steel Days Art Show in July
and was recently purchased by good friends, Russ and Toni. (Russ sold
me my first house 30 years ago...crazy huh?. Who can believe I am
getting that old.)
*I'm thankful that an old student of mine messaged me today and told me
what a difference I made in his life. He explained that he is still
only an aspiring artist but he is married now with a cute daughter,
lives in Pennsylvania and is studying nuclear
engineering....(what?...who cares about art if you are that smart.) His
note almost made me cry. He thanked me for being a diligent and
enthusiastic teacher and he expressed appreciation for all my efforts
on his behalf. Not sure what I did to deserve this note but it was a
happy moment.
*Also, I was happy when a good friend messaged today and asked when my
holiday art show is happening. She said she doesn't want to miss it and
wants to put it on her calendar now. I cannot tell you how thankful it
made me that she want to come visit, have a treat and look at art.
I am also thankful for all of you who take time to read this
newsletter, who follow my art adventures, who commission me to create
original art for you and who purchase art without worrying about if it
matches your sofa. You are the best!!
*I would love to have you come to the Christmas Art Sale as well. It
will be Saturday, December 4th from 10-2 so block out that date. We
will have good treats, prints, calendars, and original oils and
