Last year was tough. Covid really put a damper on life as we know it. I know there were definite blessings from spending more time at home and being with family but I am excited to get back out and do some painting and traveling. I also want to visit with so many family and friends that we couldn't see last year.
One great thing about last year's lockdown is that I took two awesome oil painting classes. One was in person and one was a zoom workshop and since then I have been practicing my oil skills.
You watercolor fans don't need to worry, I still love watercolor. It is magical and fun but oils have also been fun to learn to do. A great thing about oil is that you can fix mistakes by painting over them (and believe me I make mistakes.) The bad thing is that you are never sure when they are finished because you can keep re-working them.
I have signed up for several plein air painting contests that will be in person this year. I can't wait. I hope you have some fun plans for spring and summer as well and are able to get back out and do some of the things you enjoy.
The painting shown here was done in oil after taking the classes. It is available for $295 each unframed. Message if interested.
